The 2019 NFL Draft is quickly approaching, and teams are finalizing their draft boards.

How many SEC players will hear their names called in Round 1? That’s still up in the air, as there is a lot of last-minute jostling going on.

On Tuesday, NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah released his updated NFL mock draft, and he had 12 SEC players listed:

  • No. 4 — Quinnen Williams, DL, Alabama — Oakland Raiders
  • No. 5 — Josh Allen, EDGE, Kentucky — Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • No. 7 — Jawaan Taylor, OL, Florida — Jacksonville Jaguars
  • No. 8 — Jonah Williams, OL, Alabama — Detroit Lions
  • No. 10 — Devin White, LB, LSU — Denver Broncos
  • No. 14 — Greedy Williams, DB, LSU — Atlanta Falcons
  • No. 17 — Montez Sweat, EDGE, Mississippi State — New York Giants
  • No. 20 — Lonnie Johnson Jr., DB, Kentucky — Pittsburgh Steelers
  • No. 21 — Jeffery Simmons, DL, Mississippi State — Seattle Seahawks
  • No. 26 — Johnathan Abram, DB, Mississippi State — Indianapolis Colts
  • No. 30 — Drew Lock, QB, Mizzou — Green Bay Packers
  • No. 31 — Elgton Jenkins, OL, Mississippi State — Los Angeles Rams

As you can see, Mississippi State leads the way (not Alabama) with a whopping four first-round picks. That would be incredible for Joe Moorhead’s program, but we’ll see how things play out in a week and a half.
