Most mock drafts these days have Oregon DL Kayvon Thibodeaux or Michigan DL Aidan Hutchinson projected to go No. 1 overall.

However, on Saturday, CBS Sports analyst Josh Edwards updated his 2022 NFL Mock Draft, and he had an SEC standout going No. 1 overall.

As you can see below, he has the Jacksonville Jaguars taking Alabama OL Evan Neal with the first pick, with 12 other SEC stars going in the first 32 picks:

  • No. 1 — Evan Neal, OL, Alabama — Jacksonville Jaguars
  • No. 4 — Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU — New York Jets
  • No. 7 — Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama — New York Jets
  • No. 9 — Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss — Washington Football Team
  • No. 16 — Kenyon Green, OL, Texas A&M — Baltimore Ravens
  • No. 17 — Charles Cross, OL, Mississippi State — Pittsburgh Steelers
  • No. 19 — Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia — Philadelphia Eagles
  • No. 20 — Jordan Davis, DL, Georgia — Los Angeles Chargers
  • No. 25 — Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida — Buffalo Bills
  • No. 27 — DeMarvin Leal, DL, Texas A&M — Dallas Cowboys
  • No. 30 — Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas — Detroit Lions
  • No. 31 — Kingsley Enagbare, DL, South Carolina — Tennessee Titans
  • No. 32 — George Pickens, WR, Georgia — Green Bay Packers

We’ll see if the Jaguars do indeed end up with the first pick and who they take. There are a couple of months left for prospects to improve their draft stock ahead of April.
