If someone asked you to name the worst Power 5 team in the country heading into the 2018 college football season, it probably wouldn’t take you very long to reply with Kansas.

However, there are plenty of woeful teams across the country, and yes, some of them even play in the SEC.

On Wednesday, Cigar Aficionado (yes, that’s right) had Danny Sheridan, a popular college football handicapper, rank the 16 worst Power 5 teams in the country. Below are the three SEC squads that ended up on the list (behind No. 1 Kansas, of course):

  • No. 15 — Tennessee
  • No. 14 — Kentucky
  • No. 5 — Vanderbilt

Both Tennessee and Kentucky have legitimate bowl aspirations this year, so it’s a bit surprising to see them on the list.

However, all three of those squads need to have big years or else the pressure on the programs will continue to mount.
