The No. 10 Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the No. 7 Ole Miss Rebels 62-57 Thursday night.
The Tide were led by junior Tevin Mack’s 21 points. He finished 4-of-6 on three pointers. Freshman Kira Lewis also added 13 points. Ironically, John Petty’s only two points were huge, as he scored the go-ahead 59-57 points with 1:00 to play.
The first half nearly killed Alabama though. The Tide turned the ball over 10 times which resulted in 14 Ole Miss points. However, the second half was a much different story. Alabama out-scored Ole Miss 38-19.
To say Ole Miss collapsed in the second half would be an understatement.
Sophomore Devontae Shuler led all Rebels with 14 points, finishing 6-of-11 on field goals. Senior Bruce Stevens was 5-for-5 on field goals, including 2-of-2 on threes and added 12 points.
Earlier Thursday, Florida defeated Arkansas and Auburn defeated Missouri.
The Tide advance to the quarterfinals Friday against No. 2 Kentucky.
