The SEC churns out some of the best defenders every single season, and the 2017 NFL Draft once again proved that point, as nine defensive players from the conference were selected in the first round.

Among those nine players was former LSU DB Tre’Davious White, who was selected by the Buffalo Bills with the No. 27 overall pick.

At SEC Media Days on Wednesday, speedy Alabama WR Calvin Ridley said he’s glad White is off to the NFL, as he was the best defensive back he’s ever faced:

White intercepted two passes last season, returning one for a touchdown. He finished his LSU career with six picks and 34 passes defended.

Ridley had 72 catches for 769 yards and seven touchdowns in 2016, but only caught two passes for 23 yards against the Tigers. Now that White is in Buffalo, it sounds like the junior receiver plans to have a much better performance against LSU this fall.
