AP Top 25, Week 11: Georgia leads 8 ranked SEC teams
The AP Top 25 for Week 11 has been released.
Week 10 was eventful across the board, with 7 ranked teams losing. That list includes Playoff hopefuls such as Texas A&M, Clemson, Penn State, Iowa State and Kansas State.
Georgia remains the top-ranked SEC team at No. 2 in the country. The Bulldogs are joined by Texas in the top 5 this week. The Longhorns moved up to No. 5 this week ahead of Penn State despite being off in Week 10. Tennessee stayed put at No. 7 following its win over Kentucky.
Texas A&M was in the top 10 last week, but the Aggies dropped way back to No. 15 after losing to South Carolina in Columbia on Saturday.
Alabama (No. 11) and LSU (No. 14) land in the top 15 as they prepare to face off in Baton Rouge this week. The loser is likely to be out of the College Football Playoff discussion barring significant chaos down the stretch.
Ole Miss made a big statement this week with its road win at Arkansas. The Rebels moved up to No. 16 as a result of that performance. Vanderbilt is the only other SEC team to appear in the top 25 this week following its win over Auburn. Mizzou was No. 25 last week but slipped out of the poll following an idle Saturday.
The Big Ten maintained its hold on the top of the AP Top 25 for another week. Oregon retained the top spot while Ohio State moved up to No. 3 following its dramatic win in Happy Valley. As a result of that performance, Penn State fell to No. 6.
Indiana is now in the top 10 for the first time since the 2020 season, landing at No. 8. Before that, the Hoosiers hadn’t been ranked in the top 10 since 1967. Only 4 Big Ten teams appear in the AP Top 25 this week.

Such BS, Mizzou drops out without playing
I told you so. The SEC will not allow a team with an OOC loss to win the SEC. Georgia so chokey. Heupel so clutch. Tennessee is going to embarrass Kirby again on it’s way to the playoff.
Again?
Don’t acknowledge his existence with a reply.
Funny how gwhite disappears and this loon shows up. Coincidence?
I actually enjoy reminding the Orange Engineer that it’s been 9,435 days since January 4, 1999.
With Choking Georgia losing to Alabama, losing their QB commit, accepting 3 star top 600 flips from North Carolina and the fall on effect from those, they have fallen to #4 on the recruiting circuit. Meanwhile 3-D chess player Heupel has jumped from 14 to #8. As the gap closes these games will get closer as well. If Kirby doesn’t win fifty six to ten he choked again.
Uh dude. Even if Tennessee has the better team this year, and that is still yet to be determined, Josh Heupel has never once beaten Kirby Smart.
So in what way has “embarrassed” Georgia thus far?
You have to actually do it a first time before you can manage to do it “again.”
And for clarification if you try to claim it’s UT that’s “embarrassed” Smart/UGA, again I ask: How?
UGA has won every game since 2016 and 18 of the last 25 games. UT is, by every conceivable metric, the historically weaker team in the so-called “rivalry” between the two.
Watching MU play the last couple of weeks, probably appropriate they dropped out. We seem to be getting worse as the season progresses. My tendency is to wonder whether the coaching changes are catching up to the play……
No, it has to do with the starter being hurt and may not play against OU. Looks like an OU victory if Cook is out for that game.
Just about all experts saw the writing on the wall with Mizzou having the starter being hurt and may not start for the OU game. That game may end up as a loss for Mizzou.
Hopefully the Vols whip up on the bulldoggies in preparation to upset the Dawgs (hopefully) – survive and advance.
“Hopefully the Vols whip up on the bulldoggies in preparation to upset the Dawgs”
????
Next time take the pecker out of your mouth before you try to post
“bulldoggies is his reference to MS State.
Okie Dokie
Not sure how LSU jumps A&M, but whatever. Maybe they rewarded LSU for forcing A&M to go with Reed. The CFP rankings are going to be really interesting.
O Miss did what? How are they constantly getting higher ranking estimates than their results say they should ? Did they give extra big bags of Halloween Candy to some voters? It stinks boys , clean it up!
