High school sophomore Arch Manning is now one of the nation’s most talked-about recruits regardless of age or position. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound signal caller had a big growth spurt over the summer, and he’s now ranked as the nation’s top quarterback prospect and the No. 5 overall player for the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Manning is the son of Cooper and the nephew of Peyton and Eli. He’s also the grandson of Archie. Quarterbacking is in his blood. Most figure Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee to be in the mix from the SEC, although the family keeps the recruitment rather quiet.

As a freshman starting on varsity at Isidore Newman (New Orleans) in 2019, Manning threw for more than 2,400 yards and 34 touchdowns, and during last night’s season opener, he showed no signs of slowing down … only getting better.

The sophomore quarterback totaled 6 touchdowns Thursday night, completing 13-of-17 passes for 260 yards and 5 passing scores. He also added a rushing touchdown, as Isidore Newman torched Metairie East Jefferson 41-0.

Manning got the scoring party started with a long touchdown pass to 4-star wide receiver AJ Johnson.

Manning also connected with Johnson on his second score, too.

Another Manning touchdown pass.

Manning was pulled after 3 quarters due to the blowout victory, but it was a huge start to his sophomore campaign.
