It’s the SEC, so we’re accustomed to epic showdowns week after week, and this Saturday is no different.  There are plenty of interesting games, inside the league and out. Here are the best five games of the SEC weekend:

  1. Alabama at Mississippi State (3:30 p.m. ET, CBS): Alabama can’t afford to have even the slightest of letdowns after last Saturday’s huge win over LSU. The Bulldogs are on a roll, having won four straight, and have and experienced QB in Dak Prescott, who can make plays both through the air and on the ground. Both teams are 20-5 in their past 25 games, best in the SEC. Should be a great battle.
  2. Arkansas at LSU (7:15 p.m. ET, ESPN): Arkansas has been hot and QB Brandon Allen has turned into a star in the past month. His 442 yards passing and six touchdowns last week was fantastic to watch. It will be interesting to see what he can do with the LSU defense. Arkansas won this rivalry game 17-0 last year, so the Razorbacks are a confident bunch. LSU needs to be on upset alert here.
  3. Georgia at Auburn (Noon ET, CBS): It’s amazing that a 118-game series can be exactly tied. That’s what it is for the Bulldogs and Tigers, a dead-even 55-55-8 mark through a century-plus of football in the South’s oldest rivalry. Not as much at stake as usual, but still a great setting nonetheless. Who breaks the tie?
  4. BYU vs. Missouri in Kansas City (7:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network): You don’t see too many nonconference games at neutral sites in mid-November, so this one sticks out. BYU has had some crazy finishes this year, and the Cougars play a fun brand of football to watch. The spotlight’s been on Missouri football players all week after the showdown with the school system president, so now it’s time to get back to football and show some things. It’s going to be very interesting to see how Mizzou responds.
  5. Florida at South Carolina (Noon ET, ESPN). It’s hard to imagine this game being played without Steve Spurrier around, since he’s been a huge part of this rivalry on both sidelines for more than two decades. There’s still plenty to learn from this game, like whether Shawn Elliott can get a big upset as interim coach and whether Florida’s offense can start to figure out some of their problems. This one should be entertaining.

Also on the schedule this weekend are North Texas at Tennessee (noon ET, SEC Network), Western Carolina at Texas A&M (7 p.m. ET, ESPNU) and Kentucky at Vanderbilt (4 p.m. ET, SEC Network).
