CBS Sports’ Inside College Football analysts broke down the Week 9 SEC battle between 2 struggling teams, as No. 15 Alabama, which has plummeted in the rankings after losing 2 of its past 3 games, hosts No. 21 Missouri, which is 6-1 but barely beat Auburn at home last week.
Aaron Taylor, the former Notre Dame offensive lineman, even went so far as to call them “really two average teams.” Taylor went on to pick Alabama to prevail, as did the other 3 analysts on Tuesday night’s show.
“I’m following the Alabama train,” said former Colorado and Washington head coach Rick Neuheisel, who still believes that the Crimson Tide can get things together in time to make the College Football Playoff.
“(Alabama quarterback) Jalen Milroe is the best player on the team. He’s gotta play like the best player. He can’t play like a sophomore any longer,” added Neuheisel about the Crimson Tide QB who’s struggling suddenly in his junior season.
“Jalen Milroe is the best plater on the team. He’s gotta play like the best player. He can’t play like a sophomore any longer.”

ESPN’s matchup predictor agrees with the CBS Sports crew, giving Alabama an 82.5% chance to straighten things out and take care of Missouri in the 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ABC.
The showdown in Tuscaloosa has huge College Football Playoff implications, especially for a 2-loss Alabama team that was No. 1 in the AP Poll just 3 weeks ago.
