College football fans call for legendary B1G coach to be fired
College football fans have seen about enough of Kirk Ferentz at Iowa.
Iowa’s defense has been really good this year. However, the offense (led by Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz) has been atrocious. The Hawkeyes rank No. 131 (dead last) in the FBS in total offense and No. 128 in scoring offense.
That has fans fed up. The claims of nepotism are getting louder and the chorus for Kirk to retire is growing stronger.
Ferentz is the longest tenured FBS coach, having led Iowa since 1999. His overall record entering Saturday’s game at Ohio State was 180-113.
But, as you can see below, fans are ready for him to head off into retirement, taking his son with him:
Do Iowa fans like Kirk Ferentz?

You have to force Kirk Ferentz to retire this year.

Kirk Ferentz has always been overrated and overpaid as a head coach.
But his complete refusal to fire his monumentally incompetent son/offensive coordinator should be his end as head coach. https://t.co/rnHdnIjO2m

Brian Ferentz is such an idiot. It’s so bad that the announcers now take jabs at Kirk and Brian’s coaching.
I can’t wait to read the autobiography… Kirk Ferentz: Hall of Fame coach to hated by a fan base, “that’s football”.

Only Kirk Ferentz can engineer a game that is not as close as the score but also not as bad as the score.

It’s official:
Kirk Ferentz is playing for the payout. Wants his money and head to retirement.— TorNATTY Chaser (@BringbackHerbie) October 22, 2022
Man I love Kirk Ferentz and what he’s done at Iowa. I want his son gone but if he marches #7 out there after half I believe it needs to be his last year.

I love Kirk Ferentz. He's all I've ever known, and he deserves the statue he'll get outside of Kinnick.
This is a disgrace

Kirk Ferentz should not get a single question that isn't about the his son, the offense, or the quarterback for the rest of the year. Every non answer should be followed up with another question about the same subject. Every press conference, after every game.

Spencer Petras should not play another snap of college football.
Brian Ferentz should be fired.
Kirk Ferentz should retire.
— JUSTIN WISE (@JustinWise) October 22, 2022
Real talk, Kirk Ferentz is trying to get fired instead of retiring.

Will Iowa do something about its head coach this offseason? We’ll see how things progress for the struggling Hawkeyes as the season moves on.
