The site of the College Football Playoff title game in 2025 will reportedly be held in Atlanta, Georgia, according to a report from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

This isn’t the first time the game has been played at this site, with the 2018 championship game going down not only as one of the best games ever played there but also in the history of the sport as a whole.

It was a storied matchup between Alabama and Georgia that could not have had a more thrilling ending. The Crimson Tide ultimately bested the Bulldogs, 26-23, squandering their initial 20-7 lead and forcing them into overtime action.

The bid group that has been negotiating to bring the big game to Atlanta was The Atlanta Sports Council and there was reportedly not another known bidder to host the game, as Las Vegas had a scheduling conflict and couldn’t have held it.

Other games that will be played in Mercedes-Benz Stadium include the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, a College Football Playoff semifinal game, set to be held there in 2022 and 2025.
