College GameDay was live from the Rose Bowl on Wednesday to ring in the New Year. On Wednesday afternoon, No. 1 Oregon will take on No. 8 Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, a College Football Playoff quarterfinal.

Penn State won the first Playoff quarterfinal game over Boise State on Friday night, and now we have 3 more quarterfinals on the slate for Wednesday — Oregon-Ohio State, Texas-Arizona State and Georgia-Notre Dame.

The ESPN College GameDay crew of Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Nick Saban, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit made picks for each of the 3 games on the New Year’s Day slate.

Will Texas and Georgia keep the SEC alive in the hunt for a title? We’ll find out before the day is done.

Here’s a look at who the guys think will win each game on Wednesday:

No. 5 Texas vs. No. 4 Arizona State (Peach Bowl)

  • Desmond: Texas
  • Saban: Texas
  • McAfee: Texas
  • Corso: Texas
  • Herbstreit: Texas

No. 7 Notre Dame vs. No. 2 Georgia (Sugar Bowl)

  • Desmond: Notre Dame
  • Saban: Georgia
  • McAfee: Georgia
  • Corso: Notre Dame
  • Herbstreit: Georgia

No. 8 Ohio State vs. No. 1 Oregon (Rose Bowl)

  • Desmond: Oregon
  • Saban: Ohio State
  • McAfee: Oregon
  • Corso: Ohio State
  • Herbstreit: No pick (he’s calling the game)

Will the crew be proven right? We’re in for a great day of College Football Playoff action. Enjoy the games, y’all!
