Dabo Swinney admits to trolling NC State Saturday after last year's laptop scandal
Last year, NC State coaches made a fuss when they were playing Clemson, claiming that the Tigers had a laptop on their sideline, which isn’t allowed.
This year, there most certainly was a laptop on Clemson’s sideline, but it was part of a hilarious troll job by coach Dabo Swinney and the Clemson staff.
As you can see below, one of the Clemson play cards had a picture of a laptop on it, and the Tigers held it up during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s blowout:

After the game, Swinney admitted that Clemson coaches were indeed trolling the Wolfpack, adding that the assistant coaches were the ones who wanted to do it (via GreenvilleOnline.com):
“That was the ultimate troll, wasn’t it?… I was hoping y’all might notice that,” Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said, before revealing that assistant coaches approached him with the idea.
“They wanted to have a little fun with that,” Swinney added, “and I said, ‘Well, hey, if you earn it, put it up there.’ I don’t think you saw it until the fourth quarter, but that was a troll.”
Swinney and the Tigers are having a lot of fun, and Saturday’s big win over a tough ACC foe is just one more step toward a return trip to the College Football Playoff.
