Dabo Swinney has turned Clemson into a national powerhouse, as the Tigers have made it to the last three College Football Playoff tournaments, winning one title.

Everything is going well for Swinney at Clemson, but it’s safe to assume that, eventually, the NFL will come calling.

Swinney told Gene Sapakoff of The Post and Courier that he’s happy at Clemson for now, but he also won’t rule out the NFL in the future:

“I’m very happy where I am and I’m very happy coaching college football,” Swinney said a few months ago. “The great thing about college players is a chance to really build young men, on and off the field. But the NFL is great. I love the NFL. I would never say never. But right now, I’m a college coach.”

It would likely take a lot to lure Swinney away from the college ranks, especially since many speculate he could eventually take over for Nick Saban at Alabama when the six-time national champion retires.

Swinney played at Alabama in the 1990s, but for now, he’s doing well at Clemson and there’s no reason to make a change — NFL or otherwise.
