If this was Dan Dakich’s last week on the air, he really went out on a bang.

Dakich currently works for ESPN radio affiliate WFNI The Fan, but we’ll see if that continues to be the case following some interesting comments the show host made this week while on the air.

Following the firing of Scottsburg High’s basketball coach, Dakich referred to one of the team’s players as a “methhead” and called Scottsburg a town full of “meth and AIDS and needles.” Oh, he also threatened to “beat the hell out of every school board member” following the coach’s firing, according to the Indy Star.

WFNI originally posted the audio online but the clip has since been removed.

According to the Indy Star, WFNI issued the following apology for Dakich:

“Dan apologized (Thursday) to his listeners who were offended by his comments and passionate opinions about the situation. Listeners tune in to Dan’s weekday show for his strong views and frank manner. When we hear from our listeners who have been offended by Dan’s opinions, we take those matters seriously.”

Dakich also told the Indy Star he plans on addressing his comments during his Friday show.
