Dan Mullen released his updated top 25 teams on Monday after another wild week of college football action in Week 9. The coach-turned-analyst releases a new set of rankings every few weeks, and these latest rankings will ruffle some feathers.
Mullen has Oregon at No. 1, which is what the latest AP Poll has as well. At No. 2, the former coach has Penn State, while Miami comes in at No. 3. Indiana and Iowa State round out Mullen’s top 5, at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.

The AP Poll, meanwhile, ranks Georgia, Penn State, Ohio State, and Miami Nos. 2-5. Check out Mullen’s complete rankings:

Several teams stick out on Mullen’s list. The analyst is much lower on Ohio State, Texas, and Georgia than the AP voters are. In the AP Poll, Ohio State is at No. 4, which is 9 spots higher than Mullen’s ranking.
The Longhorns are at No. 6 in the AP Poll and 5 spots lower at No. 11 in Mullen’s. The Bulldogs are No. 2 in the AP Poll while Mullen has the team at No. 8.
Mullen’s rankings also seemingly value undefeated records more than the AP Poll does. Indiana, Iowa State, and Pittsburgh are all top 10 teams in Mullen’s rankings, while none of the teams are in the AP Poll top 10.
Another interesting note is Mullen having Duke at No. 25. Duke is 6-2 on the season and coming off a heartbreaking loss to SMU in Week 9. The Blue Devils didn’t receive a single vote in the latest AP Poll.
