Danny Kanell, the former Florida State quarterback turned analyst, releases his top 8 rankings following every week of college football action.
Sometimes, those rankings get, shall we say, interesting? But, this week, even after the chaos Week 2 provided, it’s tough to find too much fault with his top 8.
As you can see below, Kanell has Georgia at No. 1, followed by Ohio State, Alabama and Clemson in his top 4. Then, Michigan, Oklahoma, USC and Oklahoma State round out the top 8:

Georgia looks like it hasn’t missed a beat following its 2021 national championship. Can Alabama regroup after a rough showing in a 20-19 win at Texas?
