Deion Sanders is off to a solid start at Jackson State as he’s now in his second season as head coach. But given the troubles at his former school, Florida State, more than a couple people are wondering if he’s in for a job change.

Jackson State beat Tennessee State, which is coached by Eddie George, 38-16 on Saturday, and moved to 2-0 on the season. The Tigers went 4-3 this past season, which was played in the spring.

Of course, after Florida State lost to Jacksonville State on a walk-off touchdown late Saturday night, plenty of chatter began about Sanders going back to FSU, this time as the coach.

In November, 2019, the NFL Network reported that Sanders, a Hall of Famer, emerged as a candidate for the Florida State head coaching job, as a fascinating situation that could have unfolded. It didn’t pan out, obviously, but some are wondering what might have been.
