Unbelievable finish in the Egg Bowl, as fire hydrant pee penalty costs Rebels game
What a crazy finish in the Egg Bowl.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs beat the Ole Miss Rebels 21-20 in the Egg Bowl, and how it happened was absolute insanity.
MSU led Ole Miss 21-14 with two minutes left in the game, and the Rebels put together an incredible drive, including completing a 4th and 24 to keep the drive going. Quarterback Matt Corral, who replaced starter John Rhys Plumlee, eventually threw a touchdown pass with four seconds left to cut the Bulldogs lead to 21-20. Rebels wide receiver Elijah Moore caught the touchdown pass, but he committed an incredibly dumb personal foul penalty for excessive celebration.

Moore’s penalty backed the Rebels up 15 yards, and kicker Luke Logan missed the game-tying extra point from the 18-yard-line. The Rebels then attempted an unsuccessful onside kick, and the game was over.
