Sports Illustrated has released their College Football Playoff predictions for 2017, and it will come as little surprise that Alabama is favored heavily.

All five SI experts believe the Crimson Tide will advance all the way to the CFP Title Game in Atlanta. Three of the experts also picked the Tide to win it all.

SI released their predictions Wednesday morning.

Chris Johnson simply believes the Tide are the best.

The Crimson Tide look like the best team in the country right now, and that should be the case four months from now. It’s on the rest of the FBS to prove otherwise.

John Niesen believes Alabama’s defense and an improved Jalen Hurts will be the difference.

Really, it just seems like it’s Alabama’s turn again. The Crimson Tide should cruise through the SEC to the playoff, and thanks to a reloaded but still great defense and the continued development of quarterback Jalen Hurts, they’ll come out on top.

LSU, Auburn, and Georgia were the other SEC schools to receive votes for playing in a New Year’s Six bowl. Andy Staples believes Matt Canada’s offense will help the Tigers be the biggest surprise team this season.

Coordinator Matt Canada’s scheme finally unlocks all the non-tailback skill-position players in LSU’s offense. Combine that with Dave Aranda’s defense, and suddenly LSU looks like a contender in the SEC again.

Unfortunately for Gator fans, Eric Single believes Florida will be the biggest disappointment this season.

Without top receiver Antonio Callaway on the field, it’s hard to see the Gators beating Michigan in Week 1, and from there it’s easy to see things getting testy in Gainesville, with plenty of losable games lurking in the SEC East.
