ESPN college football insider Brett McMurphy has been let go by ESPN. McMurphy released the news via his personal Twitter account.

ESPN is said to be laying off more than 100 employees during this round of layoffs, and our hearts go out to all of them. They are very good at what they do.

McMurphy appeared on various ESPN shows including SportsCenter, The Experts and College Football Live. In 2010, McMurphy was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in the breaking news category, and he’s broken numerous stories during his career.

Prior to joining ESPN, McMurphy wrote for CBSSports.com, AOL FanHouse, and The Tampa Tribune.

McMurphy does a fantastic job, and he’ll land somewhere on his feet.
