ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) has updated its rankings following Week 1 of the college football season.
As expected, many of the top brand-name squads like Alabama, Ohio State and 2-time reigning champion Georgia populate the top of the rankings.
But that doesn’t mean the list has no surprises. Below, you can check out how ESPN’s FPI ranks the top 25 teams as Labor Day Weekend continues:

- Kentucky
As you can see, the top 25 is loaded with SEC squads. Alabama leads the way, with Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Auburn and Kentucky all landing in the top 25. LSU has a chance to move up even higher with a strong showing on Sunday night against Florida State.
