As we reach the midpoint of the season and several teams are reaching their bye weeks, the College Football Playoff picture has also changed its outlook.

Following Week 7 games, ESPN has updated its chances for teams to win the national championship. Georgia has a 43 percent chance to win the national championship, while Alabama stands at 22 percent, and then it drops to Oklahoma and Ohio State at 9 percent each. Cincinnati rounds out the group at 7 percent.

As each week churns on, the likelihood of the Dec. 4 SEC Championship game playing another major role in the Playoff picture rings more true. One of the questions that the Playoff field will reveal is how much conference championships, and before that conference regular season wins, help a given team’s strength of schedule since at the moment, 4 conferences are represented.
