ESPN’s College GameDay is live from Charlotte ahead of the huge ACC Championship Game showdown between No. 2 Notre Dame and No. 3 Clemson.

If Notre Dame loses, the Irish still might make the field of 4 College Football Playoff teams. If the Tigers lose, their CFP hopes might die, too.

During the show, the GameDay crew announced that popular comedian/actor Joel McHale — star of the former NBC show “Community” — would be the celebrity guest picker for Saturday’s Championship Weekend games.

McHale was a walk-on tight end at Washington, playing on the scout team. He never appeared in a game for the Huskies.

McHale was the guest picker once before, going 7-4 back in 2016.
