ESPN's FPI updates College Football Playoff odds through Week 8
ESPN’s FPI is back with more College Football Playoff projections following Week 8 of the season. Across the country, the race to the CFP is starting to become clearer and clearer, and three teams now have a better than 50% chance of reaching the final four.
Ohio State, on the heels of a win over Penn State, leads the latest FPI odds with almost a 75% chance of reaching the field. Oklahoma is also above 60% after hanging on and avoiding an upset against UCF.
Florida State is the other program with better than a 50% chance of getting into the CFP. The Seminoles most recently beat Duke by 18 points and have a manageable path to the ACC title game.
Michigan is fourth on the FPI odds while the SEC does not make an appearance until No. 5 and No. 6 on the list. Georgia is currently given a 31% chance of reaching the Playoff while Alabama is given a 30.3% chance. No other SEC team appears in the top 10.

For much of this season, Georgia has remained the betting favorite in the national championship odds, but that has started to shift. Michigan is the latest team to take the No. 1 spot on the odds with the Bulldogs right behind.
Those two teams have separated from the pack in the updated odds while Ohio State and Florida State lurk at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Fans can head to BetMGM to get in on that action as we head to Week 9!
