Week 11 was thrilling in the SEC.

The LSU Tigers took down Alabama 46-41 in Tuscaloosa in an incredible shootout. Yes, LSU should jump to the No. 1 team in the nation during Tuesday’s College Football Playoff Rankings, but the more interesting thing to watch will be how far Alabama falls. The Tide’s Playoff hopes are far from over.

Well, in this week’s Football Power Index Rankings, one-loss Alabama is still ranked above LSU. In fact, Ohio State, Clemson and Alabama are ranked above LSU.

All total, three SEC teams are ranked in the top five, along with five in the top 10, with Auburn and Florida rounding it out. Texas A&M was the only other SEC team ranked in the top 25 at No. 17.

The FPI is described as follows on ESPN’s website:

The Football Power Index (FPI) is a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team’s performance going forward for the rest of the season. FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Projected results are based on 10,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to date, and the remaining schedule. Ratings and projections update daily.
