Wednesday marked the end of a four-day wait for bowl season to resume.
But after getting just a little taste of college football, fans have had to spend even more time waiting.
The First Responder Bowl entered a weather delay with 5:08 remaining in the first quarter and Boston College leading No. 25 Boise State 7-0. Lightning struck near the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, which began the delay that has lasted more than an hour.
Another strike, unfortunately it means the clock resets on the delay…

The teams have had two possessions apiece, three of which ended in punts. Boston College marched 75 yards on eight plays on its first possession that ended with a 19-yard touchdown run by AJ Dillon.
Boise State hasn’t been able to get much going offensively but had just forced a punt and will start with the ball at its own 14-yard line when play resumes.
Weather delays are rare during bowl season, and this one will almost certainly create a broadcasting conflict for ESPN — the First Responder Bowl will likely still be going when the Quick Lane Bowl between Georgia Tech and Minnesota kicks off at 5:15 p.m. ET.
