The NFL season begins on Thursday, but many college football players are dreaming of someday having their own professional careers. And while the NFL Draft is still a number of months off, scouts will be keeping a close eye on draft-eligible prospects and how they pan out in 2021.

FOX Sports college football analyst RJ Young released his list of the top 10 draft-eligible players in college football today. A pair of SEC players made the list: Alabama right tackle Evan Neal (No. 5) and LSU defensive back Derek Stingley Jr. (No. 6).

Neal is entering his 3rd season with the Crimson Tide and has started every game dating back to his true freshman season in 2019. He ended up at left guard that year and was named to the SEC’s All-Freshman team while gaining accolades from various national publications. In 2020, he shifted to right tackle, where he remains.

Arguably the best cornerback in college football, Stingley has been a key member of the LSU backfield since his own arrival in the college ranks in 2019. An All-American as a true freshman, he has also garnered 1st-team All-SEC honors in his first 2 seasons.

Again, there’s plenty of season left, so Neal, Stingley and the other names on this list (and not on this list) have the time to improve their stock.
