Gary Danielson, mostly known to SEC fans as the broadcasting partner of Verne Lundquist, is often found criticizing the current style of play in college football. While he can sound like an elderly veteran of the game that longs for the way football used to be played on occasion, he’s hard to disagree with when it comes to the recent trend of SEC teams seeking “do it all” quarterbacks.

When we visited with Danielson in Hoover this week, he cited the success of Manziel in the SEC which led to a number of teams putting a playmaking quarterback at the center of their respective offenses. Have a look at the attached video to hear Danielson’s remarks.
