Former Auburn head coach Gene Chizik is back on the SEC Network this season, and his first show was Tuesday night.

Naturally, the network wasted little time putting Chizik on the hot seat, and the former coach listed his five most important players to watch in fall camp.

The first thing you’ll notice is that Chizik’s five players all come from the SEC West; he doesn’t list one single SEC East player. No Nick Chubb or Jacob Eason; no Feleipe Franks or Jake Bentley. Somehow, the East has to close that gap.

Here are Chizik’s top five most important players in fall camp:

5. Da’Ron Payne, DL, Alabama
On Payne: “Da’Ron Payne is an enforcer,” Chizik said. “He’s the starter on an Alabama defense that is one of the best of all-time.”

4. Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M
On Kirk: “He’s a game-changer, and he has to have another big year,” Chizik explained. “He has to have some other receivers come alongside him to keep him productive.”

3. Jarrett Stidham, QB, Auburn
On Stidham: “There’s high hopes on The Plains … But buyers beware,” Chizik said about his former team. “There are a lot of dynamics going on there. You have a new quarterback and a new coordinator. Again, those are some dynamics that it takes a while. If they [Auburn] can get a down field passing game with those great running backs, I think you could see this being a very explosive offense again.”

2. Jalen Hurts, Alabama
On Hurts: “This guy [Hurts] never got rattled, his poise was unbelievable and he took them to the national championship.”

1. Derrius Guice, LSU
On Guice: “I’m going to make a very bold statement. This guy could be better than Leonard Fournette. When you start getting is carries up to 240 and 250, as long as he’s durable, the sky is the limit for him.”
