Henry To’o To’o is staying in the SEC.

The former Tennessee standout is crossing sides in the Third Saturday in October rivalry and transferring to Alabama. To’o To’o, who entered the transfer portal in January, made the announcement Saturday via his social media accounts. In late April there had been chatter about To’o To’o possibly transferring to Ohio State.

A native of Concord, California, and product of De La Salle, To’o To’o was the No. 44 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2019 on the 247Sports Composite. He signed with Tennessee over 18 other scholarship offers, including Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

To’o To’o led the Vols with 76 tackles and 10 tackles for loss as a sophomore in 2020. In two seasons, he has played in 23 games, making 22 starts. In 2019, To’o To’o earned Freshman All-American honors.

The big question now will be if the SEC votes to allow immediate eligibility to intraconference transfers. If the conference gives To’o To’o the green light to suit up in 2021, fans can expect to see him in action in UA’s season opener on Sep. 4 against the Miami Hurricanes in Atlanta. Alabama and Tennessee play on Oct. 23 in Tuscaloosa.
