Liberty coach Hugh Freeze is increasingly a hot name on the upcoming coaching market as multiple fan bases across the SEC are interested in bringing the former Ole Miss coach to their school.

South Carolina is often mentioned as a possible destination, and Vanderbilt is typically listed as next in line to possibly make a move. Then there are some SEC West fan bases who are frustrated with their current head coach and remember the time Freeze had with success at Ole Miss.

On Monday’s edition of “The Paul Finebaum Show,” Freeze talked about Liberty’s big win on Saturday over Virginia Tech, and him being mentioned for jobs that may open soon. The Flames are on a nine-game winning streak, and many believe since Freeze has bounced back from a difficult personal situation after being fired at Ole Miss that he could do it again at a more high-profile school.

Freeze said he’s transparent with his players and athletics director.

“He knows how happy me and my family are here and I think they’re pleased and are doing everything we can together to make sure this is the best program that I can help it be,” Freeze said. “That is my sole focus. I told our team … I mean this, nothing has piqued my interest to this point, and I don’t know if anybody wants to pique my interest, and nothing has. My sole focus is on building Liberty University’s football program and we’re very, very happy. It would take something that is really, really special for us to leave what we’re building here and I promised our kids and I promised Ian that if anything ever got on that radar that they would be the first to hear it from me and not someone else. Until then, they have zero to be concerned about.”
