We may be a long way away from the next coaching carousel starting up in college football but that isn’t going to stop speculation from ramping up with one name already emerging as a likely candidate for any Power 5 openings.

If you haven’t been paying attention, in his second season at Liberty, former Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze has his team playing some great football as Liberty is 6-0 in 2020 and ranked No. 25 in the nation entering this weekend.

Liberty is playing at Virginia Tech right now and Freeze’s team is giving the Hokies all they can handle as Justin Fuente’s team just took the lead for the first time in the game in the second half with just over four minutes remaining in the contest before halftime.

No surprise, the reaction to Liberty’s fast start revolves around how much interest Freeze will generate during the next coaching carousel.

Here are a few of the teams being metioned as potential landing spots for Freeze this offseason:

Alabama (as an offensive coordinator)

Michigan
