A.J. McCarron ridicules Tennessee after Alabama win

Tennessee coach Butch Jones once referred to Alabama as “the red team.” A.J. McCarron, who was Alabama’s quarterback at the time, took exception to it and made reference to it after the Crimson Tide beat the Volunteers 45-10 in 2013.

While Alabama has long been associated with the color red (crimson, to be more specific), Tennessee has also worn a certain color for a long time, which McCarron referenced in a tweet celebrating his alma mater’s 19-14 victory over the Volunteers on Saturday.

McCarron, who started at quarterback for the Crimson Tide from 2011-13, now plays for the Cincinnati Bengals.
