Jahkeem Stewart has a couple of seasons of high school football remaining, but he’s already narrowing the focus of his college decision. The elite 2026 defensive lineman from New Orleans shared Tuesday that he is looking at 15 teams moving forward.

Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M made the cut for Stewart. He’s also considering Colorado, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State and USC.

A standout of St. Augustine High School, Stewart’s listed measurements are 6-6, 270 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Stewart is rated the nation’s No. 1 overall recruit in the Class of 2026. Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Mizzou are among the other programs that showed early interest in Stewart.

Stewart completed his sophomore season in 2023. If he doesn’t reclassify, Stewart is looking at about 22 more months of being recruited until he can sign in December 2025. Stewart may verbally commit early and “shut things down,” but 5-star prospects are usually recruited right up until a Letter of Intent is submitted.
