Kirk Herbstreit shared his top-performing teams from Week 2.

Unsurprisingly, Texas tops the list this week after its historic win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa over the weekend. Miami came in just behind the Longhorns after it defeated Texas A&M at home this week.

Washington State, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Oregon and Kansas also made the cut:

Herbstreit’s list does not include any SEC programs this week. Ole Miss was the only SEC team who earned a top-25 win in Week 2.

Texas handed Alabama its worst home loss of the Nick Saban era, 34-24. It was Alabama’s first home loss of any kind since the 2019 season.

The Longhorns are now in position to potentially fight for a spot in the College Football Playoff in their final Big 12 season. Texas does not have any CFP appearances in program history.

Miami, Washington State, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Oregon and Kansas also each picked up big wins this week. Miami’s win over Texas A&M could have major implications for both the Hurricanes and Aggies moving forward.

Herbstreit and the College GameDay crew will be back on the air in Week 3 for Colorado-Colorado State.
