Let’s get this out of the way first — Mark Richt is a great guy and a good football coach.
OK, now that we’ve said that, let’s talk about how much Miami struggled in the first half of the Week 1 opener against LSU in Dallas.
The Tigers roared out to an early 27-3 lead, looking like the much better squad, even though Miami was ranked No. 8 and LSU was at No. 25 heading into the game.
If Mark Richt struggling against top teams sounds like a familiar storyline, then you’re probably a Georgia fan. However, Miami fans are quickly growing frustrated with Richt’s struggles against big-name opponents, too.
As you can see below, Miami and Georgia fans alike took to Twitter during the first half to commiserate about Richt’s big-game no-shows:

I love Mark Richt. I absolutely think he’s the right guy to lead Miami.
But man, he needs to hire an OC. His play calling has been woeful going on 3 seasons…

Sheez…this is why Georgia fired Mark Richt.

Mark Richt and Jim Harbaugh should get together and see who can form the least competent offense.

I for one am shocked that Mark Richt is getting smacked around by a lower ranked SEC team

Mark Richt never have and never win big games. Didn’t do it at UGA not doing it at Miami
