LOOK: Tennessee fans place Volunteers flag on Steve Spurrier Florida statue
Whelp, it’s Florida-Tennessee week folks.
One of the most heated rivalries in the SEC, this game features two teams with SEC East title aspirations. Tennessee enters the game 2-0 after an amazing win against Georgia Tech in Week 1, while Florida welcomes the visiting team with a blemished record after falling to Michigan in the Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium to begin the season.
Last year, the Volunteers came roaring back behind the leadership of quarterback Josh Dobbs and won the game 38-28 after trailing the Gators at halftime in Neyland Stadium. Despite that loss, Florida still holds the all-time edge in the series with a 26-20 lead against Tennessee.
Besides the painful loss in 2016, Florida has another reason to head into Saturday focused. A Tennessee fan desecrated their beloved statue of former coach and current consultant Steve Spurrier which you can see below.
