LSU at Alabama game-time, TV channel announced
In what could be a battle between No. 1 and No. 2, CBS has chosen the Alabama-LSU matchup in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, Nov. 9 as its Game of the Week, putting it in the coveted 3:30 p.m. ET spot.
The Crimson Tide currently own an eight-game win streak against the Tigers dating back to 2012 in the BCS National Championship Game, a 21-0 Alabama victory in New Orleans. The Tide face Arkansas this Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium, with Nick Saban’s team being favored by 35 points.
The Alabama offense will be without the services of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who suffered a high ankle sprain in the second quarter of the Tennessee game. He underwent surgery on Sunday to repair the injury and his status for the showdown against LSU is up in the air, though Saban is hopefull that the quarterback will be back.
LSU has a much tougher game if they want to enter the matchup against ‘Bama undefeated, hosting No. 9 Auburn this Saturday in Baton Rouge. Auburn has one of the top defensive lines in the nation and will be the best front four that Joe Burrow and the Bayou Bengals have faced this season.
If both teams come out unblemished, the game on Nov. 9 should see a different sort of play from the past. With the explosion of the LSU offense under Burrow and Alabama’s talented corps of wide receivers, the offenses are electric. In what is usually a low-scoring game will feature the No. 3 offense in the country (LSU averages 539.9 yards per game) versus the No. 9 offense — Alabama is averaging 513.4.
