Mel Kiper Jr. mock draft: ESPN analyst projects 10 SEC players in 1st round of 2023 NFL Draft
Mel Kiper Jr. released his latest 1st round mock draft on Tuesday morning.
His latest mock, which comes just before the start of the NFL Combine, includes 10 SEC players. Georgia leads the way with 3 selections while Alabama has 2 players right at the top. Kentucky, Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi State each have 1 player included in the 1st-round mock.
Alabama’s Bryce Young and Will Anderson are both mocked in the top 3. Kiper is projecting the Texans to trade up to No. 1 to select Young and the Arizona Cardinals to stay at No. 3 and pick Anderson.

- Alabama QB Bryce Young: No. 1 overall
- Alabama OLB Will Anderson: No. 3 overall
- Georgia DT Jalen Carter: No. 4 overall
- Kentucky QB Will Levis: No. 5 overall
- Florida QB Anthony Richardson: No. 9 overall
- Tennessee OT Darnell Wright: No. 16 overall
- Arkansas LB Drew Sanders: No. 18 overall
- Mississippi State DB Emmanuel Forbes: No. 19 overall
- Georgia TE Darnell Washington: No. 29 overall
- Georgia OT Broderick Jones: No. 31 overall
Last season, 12 former SEC stars were picked in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The NFL Combine runs from Feb. 28 through March 6. The NFL Draft will be held in Kansas City from April 27-29.
