Paul Finebaum reacts to Alabama-Georgia, says it's the best SEC game he's seen in 40 years
Paul Finebaum has covered the SEC for a long time. He’s seen a lot of games in that span.
But Saturday night’s epic showdown between No. 4 Alabama and No. 2 Georgia was the best of the bunch.
On ESPN’s SportsCenter on Sunday morning, Finebaum waxed poetic about the Crimson Tide’s 41-34 victory over the Bulldogs:

“I’ve covered the SEC for more than 40 years. You can see that on my face right here,” Finebaum said. “But I believe that’s the best college football game in the SEC that I have seen during all those years. I know we often get hung up on being prisoners of the moment, but that isn’t an exaggeration to say in this case.
“You saw the lead, you saw the comeback, you saw the ending. It had everything you could have, including the fact that we have one of the best rivalries in the SEC, two of the best teams in the country who may or may not play again. It had absolutely everything.
“Nobody left anything on the field. They put it all out there. And if you ask who was the better team, the better team won. But the next time could be different.”
Sign us up as wanting to see more Alabama vs. Georgia this season. The game on Saturday night was absolutely electric.
“Next time it could be different”
No it wouldn’t. He’s 1-6. Healthy Alabama is going to beat Healthy UGA every time. Facts are facts at this point. Honestly, looking at how last night played out, Alabama appears to be pulling slightly away from UGA again.
Remind me how it worked out the last time UGA played Bama a 2nd time in the same season? It’s hard to beat a good team 2 times the same year. Bama isn’t pulling away from UGA. They played great, sure they are UGAs kryptonite typically but they can be beat.
Yes they can at least 1 time in 8 or 9 tries.
Don’t believe that the first half Bama was that much better than Georgia and don’t the the second half Georgia was that much better than Bama. These teams are very even matched and any rematch could go either way. There is a mental factor that a record against a certain team has on another team.
Lmao!!!…Dude is having to “reach” just to try to win an argument…
NewsFlash…It ain’t working
I admire it. I turned off the game and missed the rest. Wow.
Admit
I will put the UT bama game 2 years ago ahead of it but it was fun.
You guys that keep up with lines and betting may be able to answer this question for me. Since 2008, has UGA ever beaten Bama when Bama was the underdog?
