In football, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has made headlines by taking the Wolverines on trips abroad during the offseason.
College basketball teams also sometimes take trips abroad, and will often play some local teams during those tours.
According to college hoops expert Jeff Goodman, three SEC teams will take tours of foreign countries this summer — Texas A&M, LSU and Florida:
New coach Buzz Williams will take Texas A&M to Costa Rica.
Here are the SEC teams headed on preseason foreign tours, sources told @Stadium:
LSU – Aug. 12-22 (Spain)
Texas A&M – Aug. 4-11 (Costa Rica)
Florida – TBD

The Tigers will go to Spain, the Aggies will go to Costa Rica and the Gators’ trip has yet to be determined. Also of note, South Carolina’s first game of the regular season will take place in Canada against Rutgers.
These experiences should be a lot of fun for the athletes, and we’ll see how many games they squeeze in during the tours.
