The Ohio State Buckeyes are caught up in a major investigation into the football program and coach Urban Meyer, stemming from what Meyer knew about domestic-violence allegations against former assistant Zach Smith.

Former ESPN reporter Brett McMurphy was the one who broke the story, and it has been unclear as to who his initial source was.

On Saturday, Ohio State insider Jeff Snook revealed in an explosive new report that he has said that Texas coach Tom Herman was McMurphy’s source.

However, Herman refuted that report Saturday, too.

Herman, obviously, served on Meyer’s staff at Ohio State before landing the Houston job in 2015 and moving on to Texas in 2017.

What his motivations would be for blowing the whistle (and, if true, it was definitely a worthwhile thing to report) remain unclear, but more information is sure to come out regarding this story in the coming days and weeks.
