Things got a little out of hand at a youth football game in Knoxville, Tennessee this weekend.

A youth football referee was arrested Saturday following a confrontation with a coach of one of the teams. The referee is being accused of pulling a knife out during the argument.

Hayes Hickman with the Knoxville News Sentinel shared the report.

Arnold Jay Davis III, 50, was arrested shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday outside the game at Central High School following a confrontation with Fulton Falcons youth coach Antonio R. Hamilton…Davis had kicked Hamilton out of the game for causing a disturbance, and declared the game a forfeiture.

According to the report, Hamilton and a witness claim Davis opened the knife during the confrontation, but a school resource officer claims the knife was unopened when he saw it.

Davis is claiming that Hamilton threatened to kill him during the confrontation, but witnesses could not confirm that claim.

Thankfully someone stepped in and the authorities were called before the situation could escalate further.
