RJ Young dove into a topic near and dear to some college football fans Monday afternoon: The return of the video game NCAA Football (2024). EA Sports is set to released the newest edition of the game in the summer of 2024 after a 10-year hiatus.

During his most recent episode of “The Number 1 College Football Show,” Young dived into his top 5 college football candidates to be featured on the cover of the upcoming game.

Because of the hiatus,  EA Sports could venture to put a recent standout CFB athlete as their cover figure, not necessarily someone playing in the 2024 season. This is why Young includes names such as Joe Burrow and former Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence. Former Georgia QB Stetson Bennett IV cracked the list as Young’s 2nd favorite pick.

But No. 1? None other than Alabama head coach Nick Saban. He explained why in the segment below:

And here’s Young’s full list of picks:

  1. Nick Saban
  2. Stetson Bennett
  3. Joe Burrow
  4. Trevor Lawrence
  5. Caleb Williams

Not a soul in the college football world has accomplished more over the past 10 years than Saban, after all. He’s won 3 national championships at Alabama since EA Sports’ last NCAA Football release in 2014. And though Georgia has retaken the spot of top dog in the country, it’s always hard to count out the Crimson Tide come fall.

What do you think of Young’s list?
