Robbie Roper was a notable high school quarterback prospect out of Georgia, but following a recent procedure, he suffered complications and went to the ICU before he passed away.

The news was shared on his Twitter account and his family wrote, “He was the biggest joy to our family. We are proud of the young man he has become. He will be missed by his friends and family dearly.”

Roper, who played at Roswell High School, was 6-foot-3 and 213 pounds, and had a reported 4 offers to play in college at UMass, Morehead State, Morgan State and Western Carolina. Roper also reportedly received interest from Florida, though an offer had not been extended, per the Florida Gators Sports Illustrated channel.

His coach and others around the high school football community in Georgia shared support on social media, according to CBS46.
