Texas A&M and Ole Miss were set to face one another on Saturday, with the Aggies seeking an 8th win of the season and the Rebels looking to climb over the .500 mark while ending the College Football Playoff hopes of A&M.

That game will not take place though, as the SEC announced on Monday that COVID-19 issues within the Rebels’ program meant that it has been postponed.

“While we are extremely disappointed to miss the opportunity to play our last home game of the 2020 season and honor our senior class, we understood that any scenario throughout this public health crisis was a possibility,” Texas A&M athletic director Ross Bjork said in a statement. “After completing 8 games, our players, coaches, staff, and administration should be commended for setting the stage for a successful season and playing this great game as safely as possible. We cannot wait to get back on the field against Tennessee on December 19, and finish this season as strong as possible and continue to build our program under Coach Fisher’s leadership.”

Both teams are scheduled to finish their seasons on Dec. 19, with the Aggies traveling to Tennessee and the Rebels visiting LSU. Should both of those games not be able to be played, there’s a chance A&M could play Ole Miss then.
