SEC comedian explains every team as fast food restaurants… and it’s perfect
SEC teams as fast food joints. It’s an analogy no one knew they needed until now.
Matt Mitchell, a comedy writer who puts out the “SEC Roll Call” sketches every week on YouTube, went through all 16 teams in a video shared on social media this week and likened them to 16 different fast food restaurants. Some of them were classics. Some of them were tied to more recent on-field performance. All of them were spot-on.
Here’s what Mitchell had to say on each.
Alabama is a Del Taco: “They do not operate in the state of Tennessee.”
Arkansas is Hardee’s: “You’re probably only going to see it at 11 a.m.”
Auburn is McDonald’s: “They’re both run by a clown.”
Florida is Pizza Hut: “It was definitely better in the 90s.”
Georgia is Cook Out: “You don’t know what you’re going to get except for the drive-thru speaker barking at you.”
Kentucky is Chipotle: “They’re going through a bit of a rough patch right now, but don’t worry, they’ll be back to mediocre soon.”
LSU is Moe’s: “You’re gonna get yelled at.”
Mississippi State is Whataburger’s drive-thru: “You’re going to sit there for hours and pray it’ll be over soon.”
Missouri is Panera: “A lot of people would say neither one belongs on this list.”
Oklahoma is Jack in the Box: “Everybody’s hyped it up and I don’t know why.”
Ole Miss is an Arby’s, but specifically an Arby’s that is attached to a gas station and is open 24 hours: “I have seen a squirrel in both.”
South Carolina is Popeyes: “They are feisty and too much of it would probably give you heart palpitations.”
Tennesee is Taco Bell: “They’re both surviving on a few ingredients, or in Tennessee’s case, just Dylan Sampson.”
Texas is Subway: “They really thrive when they have zero competition.”
Texas A&M is Chick-fil-A: “They both have a very unique culture.”
Vanderbilt is a Sonic, but specifically a Sonic with indoor seating: “They do exist. They’re great, but it does not feel normal.”

Sensational.
Derek Peterson does a bit of everything, not unlike Taysom Hill. He has covered Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Pac-12, and now delivers CFB-wide content.
