SEC football predictions 2022: Media predicts conference's order of finish
SEC media has delivered its annual post-SEC Media Days predictions for the league’s order of finish.
The media’s prediction was easily seen ahead of time as it picked Alabama and Georgia to win their divisions, while Kentucky and Texas A&M were each picked to finish second in their divisions and also received the second-most first-place votes.
For the seventh straight year, Alabama was picked to win the SEC championship by media members who attended the event in Atlanta. Defending champion Georgia was picked to win the East Division but received just 18 voting points to win the championship. Alabama had 158.
Alabama has been a popular pick for a while, and been the choice in 11 of the past 13 years. The only years the Crimson Tide wasn’t came in 2012 when LSU was picked and 2015 when it was Auburn. Alabama would go on to win the league title in both of those seasons.
Tennessee, South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Arkansas each received first-place votes.
A notable pick in the West came when Auburn was picked to finish last in the division.
