The SEC West will welcome a new crop of pass catchers in the 2015 season. With the passing game ever evolving in the SEC, receivers are having much more of a dynamic impact on this era of the college game.

SDS has rounded up the incoming receivers for the 2015 class, with the skinny on each prospect:

SDS references 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Alabama Crimson Tide

Calvin Ridley (5-star): As the SEC’s highest ranked wide receiver signee, Calvin Ridley hopes to help fill Amari Cooper’s shoes. He’s the most explosive receiver in the 2015 signing class.

Daylon Charlot (4-star): Alabama dipped down into Louisiana to sign Daylon Charlot, and he projects to be a big-time asset in the coming years. Charlot is shifty in the open field.

Arkansas Razorbacks

Dominique Reed (3-star, JUCO): The Coffeyville Community College signee hopes to make an instant impact for the Hogs. Arkansas needs impact receivers, and Reed could help fill the need immediately. Reed should be the Hogs’ biggest impact player in the 2015 recruiting class.

La’Michael Pettway (3-star): Listed as an athlete, playing time is available for impact receivers in Fayetteville, and that includes La’Michael Pettway. He was a 1,000-yard receiver with 17 touchdowns in 2014 as a senior.

Deon Stewart (3-star): The name of Deon Stewart’s game is speed. He’s a burner, and like fellow freshman La’Michael Pettway, playing time is available for impact players at receiver.

Auburn Tigers

Darius Slayton (4-star): The Tigers’ most talented incoming pass catcher, Darius Slayton flipped from rival Georgia at the last second before National Signing Day. With the Tigers needing impact receivers, Slayton could become an immediate contributor.

Ryan Davis (4-star): The high school quarterback will be a receiver in Gus Malzahn’s offense. He reminds me of a Quan Bray-type receiver who can make plays in the open field. Davis could garner playing time immediately in 2015.

LSU Tigers

Tyron Johnson (5-star): One of the gems of the Tigers’ class, Tyron Johnson is a big-time playmaker who can take it the distance on any given play. Johnson joins an already-loaded receiving corps, but he may be too special to leave on the sidelines.

Derrick Dillon (4-star): Derrick Dillon may be overlooked by five-star Tyron Johnson, and he may end up being the top gem of this recruiting class. Dillon catches anything remotely thrown in his direction, and he flipped from the Florida Gators on signing day.

Jazz Ferguson (4-star): One of the best names in the entire 2015 incoming class, Ferguson is a 6-5 pass catcher who’s more of a possession guy and doesn’t figure to make instant-impact in 2015. However, he’s a threat for the future, assuming the Tigers find a passing game.

Brandon Martin (3-star): Les Miles dipped down into Texas to sign three-star receiver Brandon Martin. He looks more like a power forward than he does a receiver, and he’s one to watch in the future.

Mississippi State Bulldogs

Donald Gray (4-star, JUCO): Donald Gray should work into the Bulldogs’ receiving rotation immediately. He was a 1,000-yard receiver and 10-touchdown player in 2014 in JUCO.

Deddrick Thomas (3-star): Look for the talented Deddrick Thomas to fill the role vacated by former do-it-all receiver Jameon Lewis. Thomas has wiggles and speed, and that’s perfect for Dan Mullen’s wide open offense.

Dontea Jones (3-star): Jones’ 6-4, 230-pound frame looks more like a tight end than a receiver, and he could work into that position for MSU. However, Jones is listed as a receiver, and it will be interesting to watch this big boy develop over his career.

Justin Johnson (3-star): The one player who comes to mind for Justin Johnson is De’Runnya Wilson. Like Wilson, Johnson comes from Birmingham, Alabama, and has a big frame like Wilson, at 6-4, 205 pounds.

Jonnas Spivey (3-star): Jonnas Spivey is another receiver listed as an athlete, and he played quarterback in high school. He has nice size at 6-1, 180, and this offense suits him perfectly.

Farrod Green (3-star): Green is listed as a receiver according to 247Sports, but he could grow into a tight end at 6-4, 223. Green has great size and is elusive after the catch for his size.

Ole Miss Rebels

Damarkus Lodge (4-star): One of the best pure pass catchers in the entire recruiting class, Damarkus Lodge should make an instant splash. Lodge is a nice yards after the catch receiver, but he can go get it with the best of ‘em in traffic.

Van Jefferson (4-star): Van Jefferson hails from Nashville, and the former Georgia commit reminds me so much of AJ Green. He’s long and lean, and he’s a pass catching machine. Jefferson will be a weapon in an already-loaded receiving group.

Texas A&M Aggies

Christian Kirk (5-star): Perhaps the most explosive player in the entire recruiting class, Christian Kirk will do a little bit of everything for the Aggies. He’ll play some special teams, and he’ll play receiver and perhaps some running back in Kevin Sumlin’s offense.

Damion Ratley (3-star, JUCO): The Blinn College transfer was a 1,200-yard receiver and 20 touchdown player in JUCO. Ratley could be an unheralded asset in this recruiting class.

Kemah Siverand (3-star): Siverand is another very good receiver in this recruiting class. With so much depth, Siverand may have to wait to make an impact.
